This year, we were delighted to celebrate World Bee Day, officially held on 20th May, by dedicating a variety of activities throughout the month to these amazing and important little creatures.
Our aim was not only to have fun, but also to learn more about the vital role bees play in our environment and how we can all help to protect them.
Residents enjoyed a range of bee-themed activities, including a fun Bee Quiz and creative Bee Art sessions as part of our Colour Club. We also hosted a Baking Workshop where residents made delicious honey cakes for everyone to enjoy.
As part of our Spring Gardening Club, we refreshed all 12 of our hanging baskets around the garden and patio areas, filling them with bee-friendly flowers and plants to help support local pollinators. Some residents also joined us on local shopping trips to choose their favourite plants, adding a personal touch to our Lyndhurst garden displays.
It has been a busy and enjoyable month, full of learning, creativity, and gardening. We are proud of our commitment to being a sustainable home at Lyndhurst and remain mindful of our precious environment. Wherever possible, we strive to do our part in caring for the natural world around us.
We hope you enjoy looking through the photos from our World Bee Day celebrations and seeing some of the wonderful activities our residents took part in throughout May.
