At the start of February each year, we proudly host our Annual Tea Party, aptly named “DIGNI-TEA”, to mark and celebrate Dignity in Care.
As members of the Dignity Council, we are continually inspired throughout the year alongside our colleagues across our three sister homes. Together, we promote and uphold the values of dignity, respect, and compassion in everything we do. February’s DIGNI-TEA Party is one of the special ways we bring those values to life for our residents.
This year’s celebration was a wonderful occasion at Lyndhurst. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the party atmosphere, complete with delicious refreshments and thoughtful little “heart” hand-outs for everyone to take away.
A particularly meaningful moment of the afternoon was when a special poem, written to reflect the spirit of dignity and care, was read aloud to everyone. It created a warm and reflective atmosphere, reminding us all of the importance of feeling valued, respected, and appreciated.
Our DIGNI-TEA Party is always a highlight of the year – a heartfelt celebration of the principles that guide our home and the people who make it so special.

The Dignity Tree
I’m planting my first seed today
The seed of dignity
In time you’ll see my seed will grow
And grow into a treeA tree fulfilled with knowledge
A plant for all to see
What being a dignity champion
Really means to meIt’s a leaf with an idea on
It’s an idea I’d like to share
It’s an inspirational idea
It’s a leaf to show I careThe tree will always be there
Long after I have gone
To stand up for dignity in care
A challenge to be wonI know you will support me
And I know you’ll love the tree
It’s not just a tree you know
It’s what dignity means to me
