To celebrate National Camera Day (June 30th 2025), we handed out classic retro “one-time use” disposable cameras for our residents to enjoy. They were free to take photos of anything they liked around the home and garden, focusing on their favourite things and interests.
We also had our own cameras on hand to capture the magic as it unfolded – residents taking photos of friends, favourite spots, and those little details that bring them joy. The photos from the disposable cameras are still being developed, so we’re excited to see the residents’ unique perspectives soon!
The day itself was hot and sunny, so many of the photos featured friends enjoying lollies in the garden. For many of our residents, the cameras were a wonderful trip down memory lane, sparking memories of using similar ones back in the 1970s, 80s and 90s.
It was a fun and nostalgic day that brought out plenty of smiles and creativity!
